We've been together almost 20 years now! In 2009, we brought home a Shiba Inu puppy we named Loki. That was a crazy time.
Work was stressful and so was raising a puppy, both took their toll on my already frail health. When we moved out of Hoboken the winter after Hurricane Sandy, I also left my job after being hospitalized for a week. Shit sucks sometimes.
Once I got my health under some semblance of control, I needed and wanted to get back to work. I took on the Operations Manager position of Jersey City's Tails On Trails. It was a whole new experience working with a small business, with intense client communications. While I absolutely loved ensuring the pets had the best care, the work left my creative side untapped.
When the pandemic hit, everything changed. I felt lost but also felt this sense of freedom, to explore my creative side in an unfettered way. So I ran with it and with the support of my husband, my family and friends, I decided to jump in with both feet (or climb the tree for the highest fruit if you want an apt metaphor).
There's much more to my story. I don't know if anyone wants to hear it, but I'll share it one day as I feel more confident in my work and reaching new people.
But for now, it's time to walk Loki! 🐕🍑
